1st Amendment
Freedom of speech, this means:
1) you can have your own opinions
2) you can believe in any religion
3) you can protest
2nd Amendment
Right to own and carry weapons to protect yourself in case of an attacker, This means you have the right to bear arms.
4th Amendment
4th amendment states that the police can commit a search and seizure on personal belongings without a reason/warrant or permission
5th amendment
The right to remain silent is the right that helps to not hurt your case without a lawyer, the government also can’t take your property without paying you for it.
The 6th Amendment
You have the right to a lawyer which will be provided by the government unless you pay for one.
8th Amendment
Sentences of a crime have to be fair and not exaggerated, this means no long sentences, big bails or huge fines for a non-federal crime.
13th Amendment
One person can not own another(slavery)
14th Amendment
All citizens must be treated equally under the law
16th amendment
16th amendment states that the government can collect income tax to help support the city or military.
19th amendment
Gives women the right to vote
21st amendment
Gives you the right to drink after 21
26th amendment
Gives people the right to vote after 18
Miranda rights
You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you. Do you understand the rights I have just read to you? With these rights in mind, do you wish to speak to me?”
