They had taken over many European markets
The war had led to an advancement in tec, such that the US was the leading developer
They were in such a strong position, that they had placed many other countries in debt leading to depressions
The public were also very wealthy and benefiting from the excess demand

A

It was rejected by US President Woodrow Wilson because Americans did not want their soldiers to be killed and injured over European disputes, and they did not want to pay for it
