How did the american revolution start?
In the 1760s when british colonies were forced to pay taxes after no being represented in parliment, from this a 7 year long war broke out which the colonies one which caused a new nation to be born.

American revolutionary hero Paul Revere (1734-1818) was best known for his “midnight ride”from Charlestown to Lexington in April 1775 to alert patriots to an impending British attack.
Who was John Paul Jones?
Scotsman Jhon Paul Jones (1774-1792) was a naval capitan who settled in America and fought for the revolution. He is famous for engaging the British navy in his ship ‘Bonhomme Richard’
Who was Benedict Arnold?
As an American commander Benedict Arnold (1741-1801) was highly effective, but he changed sides after losing faith in the war. His secret negotiations with the Britisg made him a traitor.
When were the first shots fired?
Lexington 19th April 1775, leading to a british defeat at nearby Concord.
How did the British colonies in North America benefit from the Seven Years’ War with France?
The British colonies in North America profited considerably from the Seven Years’ War with France. They experienced the removal of French forts and agents that impeded their progress into the Mississippi, and the English navy provided them with protection while Britain became a guaranteed market for American goods.
How did the colony come about?
1st: people were willing to suffer in turn for a society freer and more tolerant than England could offer.
2nd: colonies developed a economy with england exchanging sugar, forest products, tobacco and furs for slaves, food products and manuafactured articles.
What was the stamp act?
Stamp Act was introduced in 1765 which forced the Americans to buy official stamps and put them on all legal documents.
How did colonies act/behave when the stamp and taxation act were introduced?
The colonists claimed that they were not represented in the British Parliament and should not have to pay. ‘No taxation without representation’ became their popular cry’.
How did the British reply when the colonies started protesting?
The opposition of the colonists was successful in removing the stamp tax but Parliament then imposed import duties on goods that were needed in America: lead, glass, paper, paint and tea.
