AMT 123 Flashcards
(39 cards)
are essential for ensuring
compliance with aviation regulations,
Maintenance records and forms
► Includes a reference to approved data (e.g.,
manufacturer’s instructions or maintenance manual).
b. Minor Repair and Modification Form
any maintenance action, including minor alterations,
repairs, and modifications, must be recorded in aircraft
maintenance records. These include:
FAA
Part 43, EASA Part 145, or ICAO Annex 6
Required Maintenance Records consists of?
- Aircraft Logbook
Maintenance Release or Certification
Work orders / Job cards
Engineering Orders
Supplemental Type Certiicate (STC)
Weight and balanc data updates
Component history record
Pilot and Mechanic Reports
► Describes the specific repair, alteration, or modification
performed.
a. Maintenance Work Order / Task Card
► A statement that the work performed is in accordance
with the approved procedures.
c. Maintenance Release (Certificate of Release to
Service)
what are the Component Maintenance Forms
a. Maintenance Work Order / Task Card
b. Minor Repair and Modification Form
c. Maintenance Release
d. Weight and Balance Change Report
e. Illustrated Parts Breakdown (IPB) Updates
f. Engineering / Technical Justification
g. Inspection Checklist
► Signed by the authorized aircraft maintenance engineer
(AME) or technician.
a. Maintenance Work Order / Task Card
► Used for recording minor changes that do not significantly
affect the aircraft’s structural integrity or performance.
b. Minor Repair and Modification Form
► Example: FAA Form 337 (for major
repairs/modifications), EASA Form 1 (for component
release), or a similar local CAA form.
c. Maintenance Release (Certificate of Release to
Service)
► If the alteration or modification affects weight and
balance, an ———— report is
required.
d. Weight and balance change report
► If required, this includes a reference to the technical
data used for repairs (e.g., Structural Repair Manual,
Engineering Order).
f. Engineering / Technical Justification
► If new parts are installed, the technical documents
may need updates
e. Illustrated Parts Breakdown (IPB) Updates
► If applicable, the aircraft or component must be
inspected post-repair/modification.

REQUIRED INFORMATION IN RECORDS
Each record must include:
✅ Aircraft registration number and serial number
✅ Date and location of the maintenance action
✅ Description of the minor alteration, repair, or
modification performed
✅ Reference to approved maintenance procedures or
manuals
✅ Name, license number, and signature of the
authorized technician or engineer
✅ Certification of airworthiness compliance
Certain tasks in the AMM for removal/installation,
testing, servicing, and similar maintenance items are
extracted from the AMM and produced on separate
cards or sheets so that the mechanic can perform the
action without carrying the entire maintenance manual
to the aircraft
Task Cards
Any maintenance work not covered in the standard
maintenance plan developed by engineering from the
MRB report or Ops Specs data must be made official by
the issuance of an —-. This is official paper work, issued
by engineering and approved by QA, and is usually
implemented through the production planning and
control (PP&C) organization.
Egineering Order
This —- is developed by engineering, with inputs from
appropriate work centers, to define the scope of the
job and schedule the work. All work centers involved in
the particular project will be defined on the EO:
maintenance (line, hangar, or shop as appropriate);
material (for parts, supplies, tools);
Engineering Order
Any work not included in these standard checks must be
assigned by engineering order. Some airlines may call
this document by another name, such as work order,
technical order, or engineering authorization (EA). This
—– is developed by engineering, with inputs from
appropriate work centers, to define the scope of the
job and schedule the work.
Engineering Order
(maintenance, materiel, planning, etc.) have agreed to
its contents. Engineering then tracks the work progress
and closes the EO when all has been completed.
Engineering Order
When an Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO)
performs an engine or propeller overhaul, proper
documentation is essential
WHAT are these documents?
A. Logbook Entries
-1. Aircraft Engine Logbook Entry
2. Propeller Logbook Entry
B. . Compliance and Release Forms
3. Maintenance Release Certificate
4. Overhaul Work Order or Job Card
5. Engine/Propeller Overhaul Report
6. Test Bench/Performance Run Report
Records the overhaul details, including key components
replaced or inspected.
► References to the approved data (e.g., Engine Maintenance
Manual).
► Certification of return to service (RTS) by an authorized
person.
-1. Aircraft Engine Logbook Entry
► Specifies the work performed, parts replaced, and
compliance with manufacturer specifications.
► Certification of airworthiness
- Propeller Logbook Entry
► Provides details of all work performed during the
overhaul.
► Lists serviceable or replaced components.
- Overhaul Work Order or Job Card
