Q

How is setting an important part of how a text achieves its effect?

A

Can echo themes of narrative for example, dark streets of Victorian London echo theme of immorality in Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
Time of day or year when text set also adds to effect, for example, school at night different to school at day. Ghost story better set at night as add sense of uncertainty + fear + create more tension for reader.
