What is a fossa?
A depression in a bone
What is the difference between a sulcus and a canal??
Both are grooves in the bone, but a canal has a ‘roof’
What’s the difference between a tuberosity and a crest?
A tuberosity is a swelling/blunt projection, whereas a crest is a ridge-like projection
Does abduction mean you are moving away from, or towards the midline?

What are some of the roles of fascia?
Supports other tissues, packs and binds material and may have a lubricating function in the muscles
What is the role of a tendon?
To transmit forces generated by muscles
How can you distinguish between arteries and veins?
Arteries have a larger diameter than veins, and have more muscular fibres. They also have an elasticized middle fibre layer which helps to keep blood pressure levels appropriate when the heart pumps blood - veins lack this
