Angles Rules + area + perimeter Flashcards
(10 cards)
Angle facts (straight lines)
- Vertically opposite angles are equal.
- Angles at a point add up to 360°.
- Angles on a straight line add up to 180°
Angle facts (parallel lines)
- CORRESPONDING ANGLES on parallel lines are equal.
- ALTERNATE ANGLES on parallel lines are equal.
- CO-INTERIOR ANGLES
add up to 180degrees
Isosceles triangles
Base angles of isosceles triangles are equal
Sum of Angles in polygons
To find the sum of interior angles of a polygon, multiply the number of triangles in the polygon by 180°.
The formula for calculating the sum of interior angles is ( n − 2 ) × 180 ∘ where is the number of sides.
All the interior angles in a regular polygon are equal.
1 interior angle + 1 external angle = 180 degrees
Perimeter
Perimeter is the measurement of the distance around something;
Area (rectangle)
For rectangles and squares, A = length x width
Area (triangle)
Area triangle = 1/2 × base × height.
Area (parallelogram)
Area=Base * Height
Area (circle)
A=π*radius2
Area (trapezoid/ trapezium)
A=(a+b) * h /2
