Antecedent Control Flashcards
(4 cards)
What are antecedent control procedures?
Involve manipulating the physical or social environment to increase desired bx and decrease the competing undesirable bx
Antecedent Control Procedures
Desirable Bx
-Present SD/cues
-Establishing Operations
-Decrease response effort
Undesirable Bx
-Remove SD/Cues
-Abolishing Operations (no contingent reinforcement- attention, escape; choice)
-Increase response effort
Using Antecedent Control Strategies
-To increase desirable Bx, use differential reinforcement with ACP
-To decrease undesirable, use differential reinforcement & extinction
-Analyze three term contingency
-Team input and problem solving
Analysis of three term contingencies for desirable & desirable Bx
-identify and define desirable/undesirable bx: can you increase/decrease response effort?
-analyze SDs/cues: what are they? Are they present in the environment? Can you manipulate them?
-identify reinforcers: are they contingent on bx? are they strong? Can you change MOs?
