A

Lateral lip of intertubercular sulcus of humerus

1
Q

Pectoralis major origin

A

Clavicular head - anterior surface of medial half of clavicle
Sternocostal head - antrior surface of sternum, superior six costal cartilages, aponeurosis of external oblique muscle

2
Q

Pectoralis major innervation

A

Lateral and medial pectoral nerves
Clavicular head - C5, C6
Sternocostal head - C7, C8, T1

3
Q

Pectoralis major action

A

Adducts and medially rotates shoulder joint
Draws scapula anteriorly and inferiorly
Acting alone - clavicular head flexes shoulder joint and sternocostal head extends it from the flexed position

4
Q

Pectoralis minor origin

A

3rd-5th ribs near their costal cartilages

5
Q

Pectoralis minor insertion

A

Medial border and superior surface of coracoid process of scapula

6
Q

Pectoralis minor innervation

A

Medial pectoral nerve (C8, T1)

7
Q

Pectoralis minor action

A

Stabilizes scapula by drawing inferiorly and anteriorly against thoracic wall

8
Q

Subclavius origin

A

Junction of 1st rib and its costal cartilage

9
Q

Subclavius insertion

A

Inferior surface of middle third of clavicle

10
Q

Subclavius innervation

A

Subclavian nerve (C5, C6)

11
Q

Subclavius action

A

Anchors and depresses clavicle

12
Q

Serratus anterior origin

A

External surfaces of lateral parts of 1st-8th ribs

13
Q

Serratus anterior insertion

A

Anterior surface of medial border of scapula

14
Q

Serratus anterior innervation

A

Long thoracic nerve (C5, C6, C7)

15
Q

Serratus anterior action

A

Protracts scapula and holds against thoracic wall

Rotates scapula
