Anterior Thigh Flashcards
(40 cards)
Pectineus: Proximal Attachment
Superior ramus of pubis
Pectineus: Distal Attachment
Pectineal line of femur (just inferior to lesser trochanter)
Pectineus: Innervation
Femoral nerve (L2,L3) may receive a branch from obturator nerve
Pectineus: Action
Adducts and flexes thigh (assists with medial rotation of thigh)
Illiopsoas - Psoas Major: Proximal Attachment
Sides of T12–L5 vertebrae and discs between them; transverse processes of all lumbar vertebrae
Illiopsoas - Psoas Major: Distal Attachment
Lesser trochanter of femur
Illiopsoas - Psoas Major: Innervation
Anterior rami of lumbar nerves (L1, L2, L3)
Illiopsoas - Psoas Major: Action
Act conjointly in flexing thigh at hip joint and in stabilizing this joint and in stabilizing this joint
Illiopsoas - Psoas Minor: Proximal Attachment
Sides of T12–L1 vertebrae and intervertebral discs
Illiopsoas - Psoas Minor: Distal Attachment
Pectineal line, iliopectineal emi-nence via iliopubic arch
Illiopsoas - Psoas Minor: Innervation
Anterior rami of lumbar nerves (L1, L2)
Illiopsoas - Psoas Minor: Action
Act conjointly in flexing thigh at hip joint and in stabilizing this joint and in stabilizing this joint
Illiopsoas - Illiacus: Proximal Attachment
Iliac crest, iliac fossa, ala of sacrum, and anterior sacro-iliac ligaments
Illiopsoas - Illiacus: Distal Attachment
Tendon of psoas major, lesser trochanter, and femur distal to it
Illiopsoas - Illiacus: Innervation
Femoral nerve (L2, L3)
Illiopsoas - Illiacus: Action
Act conjointly in flexing thigh at hip joint and in stabilizing this joint and in stabilizing this joint
Sartorius: Proximal Attachment
- ASIS
- Superior part of notch inferior to it
Sartorius: Distal Attachment
Superior part of medial surface of tibia
Sartorius: Innervation
Femoral nerve (L2, L3)
Sartorius: Action
- Flexes, abducts, and laterally rotates thigh at hip joint
- Flexes leg at knee joint, (medially rotating leg when knee is flexed)
Rectus Femoris: Proximal Attachment
AIIS and ilium superior to acetabulum
Rectus Femoris: Distal Attachment
- Quadriceps tendon
- Base of patella
- Indirectly through patellar ligament to tibial tuberosity
Rectus Femoris: Innervation
Femoral nerve
Rectus Femoris: Action
- Extend leg at knee joint
- Steadies hip joint
- Helps iliopsoas flex thigh
