Aspergillosis
How does allylamies work?
They inhibit ergosterol synthesis but at a different stage than azoles
What type if antifungal drug is anidulafungin?
Echinocandin
What are echinocandins used for the treatment of?
Serious candida and aspergillus infections
What is the downfall of fluconazole?
Resistance among some candida species is emerging
How do polyenes work?
They bind to ergosterol in the cell wall, which results in an increase in the permeability of the cell wall
What type of fungi are polyenes active against?
Yeast and fillamentous fungi
