Origin: transverse processes of first C1 to C4
Insertion: vertebral border of scapula near
the superior angle
Action: elevates scapula
Innervation: dorsal scapular nerve
Rhomboid Major
Origin: spinous processes of T2 to T5
Insertion: vertebral border of scapula
Action: keeps scapula in place
Innervation: dorsal scapular nerve

Origin: clavicle & scapula (acromion &

Insertion: deltoid tuberosity of humerus
Action: abduction
Innervation: axillary nerve
Subscapularis
Origin: subscapular fossa
Insertion: lesser tubercle of humerus
Action: medial rotation at the shoulder
Innervation: subscapular nerve

Origin: corcacoid process
Insertion: meidal margin of shaft of
humerus
Action: adduction & flexion at shoulder
