the permafrost which can crack easily and it can also melt when temperatures fluctuate leaving development unstable

build their house on stilts to avoid frost or so they dont need to put down big slabs on concrete to build on

clothing must be suitable
occupations are limited and often seasonal (oil, gas, coal work, tourism, fising)
what is agricultural productivity effected by?
poor soil and harsh climates
therefore food mainly comes from meat and fish
