1600 - 1750
What are key characteristics of the Baroque era (melody wise)?
Ornamented, flowing, repetitive motifs
What are the key characteristics of the Baroque era (harmony wise)?
Diatonic, basso continuo (bass line and chords)
What are the key characteristics of the Baroque era (texture wise)?
Mainly polyphonic/contrapuntal, especially in fugues
What are the key characteristics of the Baroque era (dynamic wise)?
Terraced dynamics (sudden changes, not gradual)

Regular, driving rhythms, strong sense of pulse
