How has the arid climate influenced agriculture?

A

Agriculture is impossible due to the low rainfall and that rainfall that does occur comes heavily, leading to flash flooding and soil erosion
Water can be drawn from oases and aquifers to irrigate crops
Crops such as cereals can be grown in the shadows of smaller plants such as date palms
Some native people are nomadic, allowing them to graze livestock and vegetation
