-Medium is defined as the material, or substance out of which a work is made.
Through these materials, the artists express and communicate feelings and ideas.
-The medium also defines the nature of the art form.
Art Mediums
-fall within the eategory of “three-dimensional” arts because they occupy space and have volume
-Traditional materials in sculpting includes:
Bronze, Glass, Granite, Ice, Ivory,
Plaster. Stone and wood while casting media includes Cement, Metal, Plaster, Plastic, Synthetic resin and wax. On the other hand, modeling media uses clay; Papier-mache; Plaster: Sand; possibly Styrofoam.
Sculpture
-Uses wood, bamboo, bricks, stone, concrete various building materials.
- Indigenous materials.
Architecture
one of the oldest & perhaps the most permanent material.
Stone
is not a permanent material but its advantages are its abundance, relative durability, and high tensile and compression strength.
