Explain how these diseases are spread: Ebola Flu Malaria Plague
Ebola- by air droplets caused by sneezing or coughing. Transmitted through direct contact.
Flu- from person to person by contact with respiratory droplets.
Malaria- is spread to humans through bites of mosquitoes.
Plague- transmitted from bites or scratches of wild rodents and cats, or contact with tissue from infected animals.

HIV
Why do diseases spread more quickly nowadays from country to country?
More people are traveling and they come in contact with other people who pass it onto others.
When flu spreads it causes an epidemic. What is an epidemic?
A wide spread occurrence of an infectious disease in a community at a particular time.
How does the body stop microbes from entering?
Natural barriers, skin and scabs.
How does the immune system act on microbes that have started to attack the cells?
The immune system uses antibodies and antitoxins to kill the microbes.
What precautions are taken when keeping dangerous diseases in laboratories?
Wear gloves, a protective HAZMAT suit and goggles.
What do you think the key points in judging how dangerous a disease is?
How it is spread, how it can be cured, the symptoms and which type of microbe it is.
Which disease is the worst and explain why.
HIV because it can’t be cured, there are no symptoms for years until you get AIDS and it is a virus.
