What does FDS stand for?

Flight Director System.

What is FDS?

Navigational and attitude aid to the pilot.

Used to get heading, course, and attitude information to pilot and copilot via identical Multi-Functioning Displays (MFDs)

Attitude display and visual indication for flight direction.
