Q

What does ATP hydrolyse into?

A

Adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and 1 inorganic phosphate group (Pi). Catalysed by enzyme ATP hydrolase. Energy is released.

ATP —ATP hydrolase—> ADP + Pi (+energy)

Q

How is ATP resynthesised?

A

Condensation of ADP and Pi, catalysed by enzyme ATP synthase during photosynthesis or respiration. Energy released from photosynthesis or respiration allows for the resynthesis.

ADP + Pi —ATP synthase—> ATP
