Look for anaemia, diaphoresis

Listen S1,2 +0

Feel pulse (irregularly irregular and fast), apex beat undisplaced

HR: high
BP

Bloods: FBC, UEs, LFTs, CRP, troponin, d-dimer, cholesterol, lipids, glucose

Cannulas

ECG

Management:

  1. Synchronised DC shock at 200J up to 3 times (sedation prior)
  2. Amiodarone 300mg/ 20 min
  3. Re-attempt shock

Rate + rhythm control

Long-term anticoagulation should be with DOAC or warfarin

Scores: CHA2 DS2 VASc
HAS-BLED, ORBIT bleeding score risk is a better score for bleeding
