The Primary Mobilization Point for the Air Reconnaissance Chief will be Floyd Bennett Field. Selected Battalions have been trained and designated as ARCs (Bn. 33, 39, 43, and 58) however based on need and availability any Battalion may be special called to staff this position.
While responding to the mobilization point the ARC shall obtain the following information from the IC through the fire department dispatcher

♦ If appropriate, the location and designation of all sectors designated by the IC under the FDNY Incident Command System.

is capable of transmitting at 25 watts and will be the primary method of communicating with fire ground personnel.
Note: FDNY handie-talkies shall be used as a backup. Communications using the FDNY handie-talkie radio and headset on the 5-watt primary command and TAC U channels are generally satisfactory with mid to upper floors in High Rise structures and to a lesser degree with IC Posts and lower floors.
During an air reconnaissance operation, the IC shall ensure that the department radio and the handie-talkie primary command channels are monitored at the Incident Command Post. On the decision to “airlift” in the air rescue plan (AUC 269 Addendum 1), the IC must also have the TAC U channel monitored for communications with the Air Recon Chief and High Rise Roof Chief during the Air Lift Phase of Operations. Who would be a suitable choice to do this?
