Duma dissolved itself so as to not distract from the war effort with unnecessary politics

Schlieffen plan was based on the idea that Russia wouldn’t be able to mobilise quickly

The Tsar created 17 military zones where there was marshall law
Why did Nicholas II reject the offer of cooperation from Zemstvas?
to uphold the autocracy

Union of Zemstva
What did the Union of Zemstva do to help the war effort?
Union of Zemstva set up medical facilities as there is the perception that the Tsarist regime was failing to provide proper medical facilities (like the Great Famine)
