Describe Styria

A

Austria > Southeastern Austria > Foothills near Slovenia > Continental with Alpine influence > Volcanic, gravel, marl > Sauvignon Blanc, Welschriesling, Morillon (Chardonnay) > Styria is known for aromatic white wines. DACs include Südsteiermark, Vulkanland Steiermark, and Weststeiermark. Focus on dry white wines, especially Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay (Morillon). Schilcher rosé from Blauer Wildbacher in Weststeiermark is a local specialty.
