Autoimmune disease Flashcards
(12 cards)
Hypersensitivity immune response Type 1
Allergy and Atopy = Asthma or allergies
- IgE mediated
Hypersensitivity immune response Type 2
Antibody-mediated hypersensitivity = Graves
- IgE mediated cytotoxic
Hypersensitivity immune response Type 3
Immune complex-mediated hypersensitivity = Lupus
- immune complex mediated
Hypersensitivity immune response Type 4
Delayed type hypersensitivity = MS
- cell mediated
Transplantation immunological reactions
- Hyperacute rejection
- Acute rejection
- Chronic rejection
Minutes after transplant
Hyperacute reaction
Highest risk window one week to three months after transplant
Acute rejection
Months to year after transplantation
Chronic rejection
How do vaccines work?
Stimulates a response from the immune system to a virus or bacteria.
This creates a “memory” in the immune system.
Immune response in tumors
- It can inhibit tumor growth
- It can promote tumor growth
- Immunodeficiency can predispose to virally induced cancer
- Some tumors generate immunosuppressive microenvironment
Cancer immunity cycle
- Release of cancer cell antigens
- Cancer antigen presentation
- Priming and activation
- Trafficking of T cells to tumors
- Infiltration of T cells into tumors
- Recognition of cancer cells by T cells
- Killing of cancer cells
Terapia de células T con CAR
- Se extrae sangre del paciente para obtener células T
- Se preparan las células T con CAR en el laboratorio
- Se reproducen millones de células T con CAR
- Las células T con CAR se unen a las células cancerosas y las destruyen
