Q

Explain how exercise affects your health.

A

You are less likely to become overweight if you exercise regularly. This is partly because you are using up more energy and have a increased metabolic rate.

You will have more muscle tissue, which will increase metabolic rate, if you can control your weight you will be less likely to be affected by arthritis, diabetes, high blood pressure.

Cholesterol levels are affected by exercise, regular exercise lowers blood cholesterol levels. It also helps the balance of different types of cholesterol.

Exercise increases healthy cholesterol and decreases harmful cholesterol. This lowers risk of heart disease and other health problems.
