2
Q

How does active transport of 1 molecule occur

A

ATP and particle bind to their respective sites
ATP hydrolysed into ADP + Pi
Pi releases energy causing transport protein to change shape, particle forced across protein

3
Q

Additional steps when active cotransport of 2 particles

A

Pi is released
Transport protein reverts to original shape, forcing particle across membrane
