B5 mAbs Flashcards
(8 cards)
What is a mAbs
An antibody produced from a single clone of B cells that is specific to one type of antigen
Use of mAbs in Therapeutics
Deliver drugs to cancer cells
Bind to receptors on cancer cells to stop molecules that cause cell division from binding
use of mAbs in diagnostics
Molecules bind to mAbs, formation of antibody antigen complexes can be detected
Ethical issues of mAbs
Use of human trials
Injecting mice to produce them
