Q

How do you demonstrate advocacy?

A

Everyday!

Demonstrating advocacy means supporting rights, needs and wellbeing of patients. Aswell as communicating concerns, promoting quality of care and using relevant policies and procedures to ensure patient safety.

Example:
An example of this would be in Endoscopy, advocating for a patient who may not be comfortable sharing their discomfort. But being able to recognise specific body language features that would suggest their symptoms and being able to speak up.
