The study of bacteria.
What are pathogenic bacteria?
Harmful bacteria.
What are the three types of pathogenic bacteria?
Spirilla, bacilli, and cocci
What are non-pathogenic bacterial?
Helpful bacteria.
How do bacteria reproduce?
They divide.
What helps bacteria grow.
Dark, moist and warm places.
What kills bacteria/doesn’t help it grow?
Well light, cool, dry environments.
What are the proper cleansing levels in order from least to greatest.
Sanitization, disinfection, and sterilization.
Define sterilization
Using hot water and soap, removes dirt and oil.
Define disinfection
Kills almost all bacteria and viruses, disinfectant used in the salon must be hospital grade.
Define sterilization
Kills all microbes including spores. Use auto clave.
Porous?
Means that the object has small holes called pours.
