2
Q
What causes lift on a wing?
A
Lift is generated by the pressure difference between the upper and lower surfaces of a wing due to its shape (airfoil) and angle of attack.
3
Q
What is angle of attack?
A
The angle between the chord line of the wing and the relative airflow.
4
Q
What happens when the angle of attack exceeds the critical angle?
A
The wing stalls—lift rapidly decreases due to airflow separation.
5
Q
What are the four forces acting on an aircraft in flight?
A
Lift, Weight (Gravity), Thrust, and Drag.
6
Q
What is induced drag?
A
Drag caused by the production of lift, greatest at low speeds and high angles of attack.
