Q

Right of way

A

1.Aircraft in Distress: An aircraft in distress always has the right of way over all other aircraft, regardless of its position relative to other aircraft.
2.Head-on Convergence: When two aircraft are approaching each other head-on, both pilots should alter their course to the right.
3.Overtaking Aircraft: An aircraft that is overtaking another must give way to the aircraft being overtaken, and it should do so by passing on the right.
4.Aircraft on the Right: When two aircraft are on intersecting flight paths, the aircraft to the right has the right of way.
5.Gliders: Gliders have the right of way over powered aircraft, as they are unable to maneuver as easily.
6.Converging at Altitudes: If two aircraft are converging, the aircraft that has the other on its right has the right of way. lower=right of way
7.Landing: An aircraft landing has the right of way over an aircraft in flight. When two aircraft are approaching the same airport for landing, the one at the lower altitude has the right of way.
