What is a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) describes the control processes required in a workflow/process to minimise potential mistakes due to oral communication and ensure that staff is familiar with the details of all procedures that need to be followed in the specific workplace. There should be a written SOP for every important procedure/process (essentially required by the GPP, GMP or GWDP). SOPs must be as complete as possible and contain all necessary information yet avoid irrelevant information.
