Blood supply to the corticospinal tract Flashcards
(8 cards)
What supplys the medial surface of the precentral gyrus (Primary motor cortex area 4)
The medial surface is supplied by the anterior cerebral artery.
This area is responsible for the hip, leg, and foot area.
What supplies the lateral surface of the precentral gyrus AKA the primary motor cortex area 4?
The lateral surface is supplied by the middle cerebral artery
This area is responsible for the trunk, upper limb, and head area.
What blood supply runs to the posterior limb of the internal capsule?
Lenticulostriate arteries which are branches of the middle cerebral artery.
What blood supply runs to the midbrain?
Posterior cerebral artery, and the basilar artery.
What blood supply runs to the pons?
The pontine arteries of the basalar artery.
What blood supply runs to the rostral medulla?
The anterior spinal arter and the vertebral artery.
What blood supply runs to the caudal medlla?
The anterior spinal artery
What blood supply runs to the cervical spinal cord?
The anterior spinal artery.
