What is a Body worn camera
A portable electronic recording device that is worn on a law enforcement officers body that records audio and video data in the course of the officer performing his/her duties and responsibilities.
What is a critical incident
Incidents requiring immediate notification to the Chief of Police.
What is a citizen interaction
Any call for service, consensual encounter, investigatory stop, traffic stop, arrest, pursuit, use of force, search, interview, or any other form of contact with, or observations of, a member of the public or person under investigation or detention.
What is digital evidence?
Information or probative value stored or transmitted in digital form.
What is Digital Media Storage System
The electronic storage system used to provide a secure location for the storage and authorized access of digitally recorded body camera media.
What are evidentiary recordings?
Recordings generated by BWC equipment that contain evidence of a crime or infraction for use in court, civil litigation, or resolution of a citizen complaint.
What are non evidentiary recordings?
Recordings generated by BWC that do not contain evidence of a crime or infraction.
What is a personal Representative?
A parent, court appointed guardian, an attorney, or an agent of, or a person holding power of attorney for another.
What is a Public Records Specialist
A person trained to perform clerical duties to retrieve and maintain records of city documents IAW FL state public records laws.
What is a system administrator?
A designated individual with full access to user rights who assigns and tracks equipment, controls passwords, and acts as a liaison with the BWC manufacturer.
Unless otherwise specified, how long shall all recordings be retained?
A minimum of 90 days
