The Representation of the People Act 1918:

A

•Increased electorate size from 7 million to 21 million.
• universal male suffrage over 21
•all women over age of 30 were given the vote
•conscientious objectors were barred from voting for 5 years.
• There was a redistribution of seats, dividing the country into single member constituencies. This increased representation in industrial cities, creating working class constituencies.
