what is the mnemonic for bracheal plexus related muscle test?
WSPK (waiter’s, saturday night, pointer, klumpke)
what is the waiter’s palsy?
also called the eb’s palsy, when the arm rotates medially and is stuck in pronation and extension
what causes waiter’s hand palsy (spinal nerves)?
damage to the C5,C6 region
what nerve plexuses may be broken in waiter’s hand palsy?
subscapular, musculocutaneous, and the axillary plexus
what muscles are affected in eb’s palsy?
the deltoid, biceps brachii, and the brachialis
what is the saturday night palsy?
palsy where the wrist is flexed
what causes the saturday night’s palsy (nerve plexus)?
distal radial damage
what are some other symptoms associated with the saturday night palsy?
difficuly to extend the elbow
what is the pointing finger palsy?
self explanatory
what are the damaged nerves in the pointing finger palsy?
the proximal median nerve
what is klumpke’s paralysis
position where the index and middle finger is flexed
what spinal nerves are damaged in klumpke’s paralysis?
C8 and T1
what muscles are damaged in klumpke’s paralysis?
flexor carpi ulnaris and the ulnar half of flexor digitorum profundus
