What is the Great Compromise and who made it?

A

The Great Compromise was the combination of the New Jersey plan and the Virginia which solved the argument of whether the should have the same amount of senators and representatives or make them according the state’s population, it was made by James Madison who made idea of the same amount of senators for everyone and representatives according the state’s population.

How does Congress make a new law?

A
  1. a bill is introduced by a Congress member 2. bill goes to committee to be written?/discussed 3. Committee votes 4. House/Senate debates and votes 5. passed bills go through other house 6. repeat steps 2 to 5 7. President decides to approve or veto the bill (veto can be overridden if two-thirds of Congress is in favor of it, but they only have 10 days or the veto becomes a pocket veto).
