In relation to an underline bridge strike, what is a light vehicle dispensation?

A

Where shown in the SBSI:

You may authorise normal movements over the underline bridge before it has been examined, regardless of its classification, providing you can establish beyond reasonable doubt that only a light vehicle has been involved in the bridge strike.

A

-Car
-Motorcycle
-Transit Van or smaller

and that the vehicle is not on fire!

Regardless of colour classification, under which circumstances would stop all movement of trains after an underline bridge strike?

A

-A rough ride within a ½ mile of a bridge or track damage or debris on the line

  • Vehicle on fire under bridge
  • Vehicle wedged under bridge and any of the following apply:

• Vehicle carries hazardous goods

• Person/s trapped in the vehicle

• BSN or BSE tells you the vehicle is substantial, and it is not possible to examine the bridge until the vehicle is removed

• A substantial vehicle is being removed
