16
Q

what does Buddha learn from seeing Saddhu (holy man who has given up his life for faith)

A

You can be old and poor but still be happy

17
Q

what would’ve had to happen if the story of the four sights is literally true and is it plausible

A

Buddha will have had to literally never seen old age, sickness and death

It is unlikely he wouldn’t of seen them cause his Dad would be getting older and see himself aging and it is hard to avoid sickness

18
Q

what would’ve had to happen if the story of the four sights is psychological crisis and is it plausible

A

Buddha will have seen these things but never truly though about them deeply or seen them at extreme levels

This is plausible because if he truly was sheltered away he would’ve most likely seen minor suffering but not to large or extreme extents or known it could happen to wealthy people like him

19
Q

what would’ve had to happen if the story of the four sights is a parable for other Buddhists and is it plausible

A

It would be a parable with the meaning that people usually ignore other peoples suffering but we should all see it and want to help and become more compassionate and appreciate things more and learn what Buddha learnt by seeing these things

It is very plausible because the story can be a Hagiography (religious biography) which is designed to emphasise key religious ideas

20
Q

What was Siddharta’s friend called that charioteered him

A

Channa
