Who was Siddhartha Guatama?
Also known as the Buddha, he was a prince who seeked the true path of enlightenment and founded Buddhism.
What were the four sights?
Old age, sickness, death and seeker of the truth
What is the middle way?
The middle way is not having too much or too little of anything, just the right amount
What are the four noble truths?
1) All life involves suffering
2) The cause of suffering is craving.
3) To stop suffering, you have to stop craving
4) The way to bring about the end of suffering is the Eightfold Path
What is Karma?
If you do right things, you will have good karma, and your next life will be better. If you do wrong things, you will have bad karma, and your next life will be worse.
What is Samsara?
Samsara is a cycle of birth, death and rebirth. When someone dies, their energy passes into another form. Some people are moving up in their next life, some aren’t
What is reincarnation?
Reincarnation is the belief that the soul comes back to earth in another body or form
What is Bodh Gaya?
Bodh Gaya is a pilgrimage that Buddhists take. You can give offerings, meet other Buddhists, and worship the descendant of the Original Bodhi Tree.
What is Nirvana?
To escape the cycle of Samsara, you need to become enlightened and reach Nirvana.
What is enlightenment?
Enlightenment is learning the truth of the world.
