In Theravada Buddhism, merit can be traversed to the dead so they can have a better rebirth and little money is spent on the ritual
Why is the shrine important in Buddhist worship
Flowers(annica), incense(purity) and candles(enlightenment) are placed onto the shrine
setting up a shrine makes any place a place to worship so they could be set up anywhere so it can be taken anytime so it doesn’t have to happen in a temple
