6 DACs, north-south:
- Leithaberg DAC
- Neusiedlersee DAC
- Rosalia DAC

What is Leithaberg DAC?
borders Thermenregion & Carnuntum, mixture of hills and plains allows variety of grapes grown
DAC white only Chardonnay, Grüner Veltliner, Neuburger, Weißburgunder (blends or varietal)
DAC red min 85% Blaufränkisch, plus Pinot Noir, St. Laurent, Zweigelt
What is Neusiedlersee DAC?
largest & warmest region, east of Lake Neusiedl
has two styles:
•Klassik
•Reserve
DAC Reserve can produce sweet wines (only BA/TBA levels)
DAC only Zweigelt (dominant), reserve min 60% Zweigelt
Sweet whites made with grapes from Apetlon, Illmitz, Podersdorf may labelled Seewinkel
What is Seewinkel?
a sub-region in southeastern of Lake Neusiedl, located within Neusiedlersee DAC
grapes: Welschriesling, Riesling, Weißburgunder
noble sweet whites wines made with grapes from towns:
- Illmitz
- Apetlon
- Podersdorf
What is Rosalia DAC?
situated in between of Leithaberg & Mittelburgenland
the only rosé DAC
DAC red only Blaufränkisch/Zweigelt (min 85%)
DAC rosé must be made from one or more red Qualitätswein varieties
What is Mittelburgenland DAC?
warm dry region
DAC only Blaufränkisch
has two styles:
- Klassik
- Reserve (min aging 1 year in new/old oak)
What is Eisenberg DAC?
formerly known as Sudburgenland
DAC only Blaufränkisch
has two styles:
- Klassik
- Reserve (min aging 1 year in oak)
What is Ruster Ausbruch DAC?
located within Leithaberg, got DAC in 2020
produced exclusively from grapes harvested within the city of Rust
DAC grapes one or more white Qualitätswein: Weißburgunder, Chardonnay, Muskateller, Grauburgunder, Furmint
min must weight: 30°KMW (equivalent to TBA)
min residual sugar: 45 g/L
