Q

What happened in the alpha scattering experiment

A

Alpha particles were fired at a layer of gold foil, some of the alpha particles were reflected backwards however some went through the foil. This proves the existence of the nucleus.

Q

Calculation for relative atomic mass in terms of isotopes

A

(Abundance of isotope 1 x Mass of isotope 1) + (Abundance of isotope 2 x Mass of isotope 2)

All divided by 100
