CAD Flashcards
(35 cards)
Where can you find all the information on CAD?
In the white “CC Programs & Radios” book on the weston side under “CAD” and in your training book.
In CAD, if you have red squares on the screen, what does that mean? How do you correct it?
The location is not correct or it is not inside Bradley’s patrol area. If it is not in Bradley’s patrol area, it will stay red. If it is in the Bradley area, you need to correct it.
In CAD, if you have green squares on the screen, what does that mean?
The “Incident” section is not completed.
In CAD, if you have blue squares on the screen, what does that mean?
The “Reporting party” section needs to be completed.
Under “Preference” what should you have “Call List Sort” clicked on?
Description - they come up in alphabetical order this way.
What letter would you use if you dispatch an officer on a call?
D
What letter would you use when the officer arrives at the call?
A
Can you add a comment or something when you “A - Arrive” an officer?
Yes. You can enter “A 214 in the area”.
Can you dispatch or arrive more than one officer at a time in a batch?
No. Only 1 at a time.
How would you enter a building check?
U (officer #) (3 digit bldg code) - enter. (U 214 APA).
Would you use “check”, “secure”, or “walkthrough”?
Use whichever the officer tells you when they call it in.
When CAN you start a CAD call with a “W”?
Only when the officer calls it in and they are already there. The “W” automatically arrives the officer and puts the “Received” type as self initiative.
When should you use a “T” to start a call? What should follow the “T” on the same line? What does this do?
Traffic stop. Ex - “T 214 1000 Elmwood/AB12345”, enter. This will automatically arrive the officer, put the address in the “Location” field, and the “/” tells it to put the license plate in the correct field.
What do you have to go back and do on this call with the address? Why?
When the address is entered this way it does not google verify, will stay red, and will show the wrong location on the google map. You have to go back to the “Console” line and type “G”, enter, be sure the “Google Search” box says “ENTER A LOCATION” (if not, hit enter until it shows up), enter the address, scroll down to the correct address or if it is an intersection, just hit enter.
Name 3 places you can find a list of call classes? Received? Status?
On the ring hanging on the ring on each side, Central Communications Programs & Radios book, training book.
When should dispatch use the “Received” type of PPD RADIO/PHONE?
For any call that we hear over PREP 1 or when city dispatch calls us to take or go to a call that we send officers to. This would also be used for a Shotspotter = Shotspotter is a program given to us to use by Peoria Police. Another would be an Alarm = if city calls to say they received an alarm from somewhere that is not Bradley related.
Is the “Reporting Party” the person who is calling in or the person they are calling about?
It is always the person calling in. The person they are calling about should be in a memo
What is a shortcut to put in a student’s information in the Reporting Party?
R 123456 - this will automatically fill in the students’ information.
When using the above shortcut, why should you always check to be sure the phone # is the same as the one they used when they called in? Should you change it if it is not?
When you use the shortcut above, it populates the phone number the student listed with their original information. That # needs to be the # they called in on and should be changed in case we need to call them back.
Name 3 ways can you clear the CAD screen?
Click on CAD in the box at the top, press Ctrl & C, & I space 0 enter.
Name 3 ways to save information that is in gray still? What will happen to the information in gray if you do not save it?
Ctrl S, or a command starting with A, S, M, C. It will disappear and you have to re add it
If you are putting mileage in a “M”, how would you do it?
M 211 mil/123.4
When you put in an intersection in “Google Search” what would you NOT do that is different from putting in an address? Why?
You put in the streets and just hit enter, do NOT scroll down to choose the correct one. If you do, it will have the red boxes around it and that is not the correct location.
Why is putting in University & Columbia Terrace incorrect in “Google Search”?
Google Search sees Terrace the same as Ave or St. You only put in “University & Columbia” and hit enter. Do not scroll down to click on that intersection.
