Temperment
Biologically based tendancies to respond to certain situation in simmilar ways throughout our lifetimes.
Temperment styles
easy- 40%- cheerful, easy with routines
Difficult- 10%- tend to be irritable and can have negative reactions
slow to warm up- less active and less responsive than other babies
Unique- 35%- blend of characteristics

Significant emotional connection to another person

Secure attatchment looks like
Comfortable with emotions, tend to not seek validation and comfort all of the time
Avoidment attatchment looks like
Can be aloof or indifferent, fear of dependancy once adult is gone.
Anxious attatchment looks like
heightened sensitivtu to abandonment, very anxious, high need for validation
Disorganized attatchments looks like-
love bombers, hot and cold, super involved, then all of sudden not
Authoritive
Parents- Warm, sensitive to childs needs, nuturing, makes reasonable demands, and encourags appropiate autonomy
Kids- high self esteem, cooperativness, self control, social maturity
Authoitarian
parent- Cold, rejecting, makes coerce demands, very critical of child
child- low self esteem, anxious, unhappy
Permissive parenting looks like
Warm, accepting but over indulgent and inattentive
child- Impulsive, disoveddient, overly depenant on adults, low initative
Uninvolved parenting looks like
Parent-Emotionally detached and depressed, no time or energy for kids
Child- Anxious, poor communication skills, anti-social behaviour
Limitations of parenting styles
Cultural and contextual variation, simplification of complex behaviors- parenting styles can change, individual differences of children, influence of other caregivers- also being influenced by other adults and caregivers
