Abnormal Psychology
The scientific study of psychological disorders- (to much or to little of a behaviors)

Deviance- outside of societal norms
Distress- DSM- Emotion associated with disorder
Dysfunction- abnormal behaviour that interferes with daily functioning-( depressed and can’t get out of bed)
Danger- more likely to be a danger to themselves or others

Disorders are the result of problematic learned behaviours and dysfunctional cognitive processes
Behavioural perspective- abnormal behaviours- how the environment can change behaviours- or classical conditioning- you learn to be afraid

Multifinality-
Kids can start at the same point but wind up with a different outcome- two friend experience similar event- one develops resilient- and one struggles and faces various challenges in their life
