- Aspirin (helps prevent blood clots)
- Clopidogrel (Plavix) (helps prevent blood clots)

What do beta-blockers do and what are they used to treat?
A
- slow heart rate
- reduce force of heart contractions
- ex. metoprolol
- used to treat angina, high blood pressure, heart failure, and abnormal heart rhythms

What do ACE (angiotensin-converting enzyme) inhibitors and ARBs (angiotensin receptor blockers) do and what do they treat?
A
- helps relax blood vessels
- lowers blood pressure
- reduces the heart’s workload
- used to treat high blood pressure, heart failure, and can help prevent MI and stroke

- lower cholesterol levels (particularly LDL)
- prevent plaque build up in the arteries

- used for quick relief of angina symptoms
