(28 cards)
Where is the vagus nerve located in relation to the phrenic nerve?
The vagus nerve is medial to the phrenic nerve.
What is the order of the great vessels from right to left?
The order is Superior vena cava, Aorta, Pulmonary artery.
Where does the tricuspid valve sit?
The tricuspid valve sits deep to the coronary groove which contains the right coronary artery.
What marks the boundary between the two ventricles?
The anterior interventricular groove marks the boundary between the two ventricles.
What artery sits in the posterior interventricular groove?
The posterior interventricular artery is a branch of the RCA and sits in the posterior interventricular groove.
What are the two main branches of the RCA?
The right marginal artery and the posterior interventricular artery.
Where is the LCA found?
The LCA is found in the left atrioventricular groove.
What are the four branches of the LCA?
The branches are circumflex, left anterior descending, left marginal, and lateral/diagonal branch.
What are the three openings of the right atrium?
The openings are SVC, IVC, and coronary sinus.
What is the fossa ovalis?
The fossa ovalis is a depression in the right atrium, a remnant of the foramen ovale.
What does the crista terminalis represent?
The crista terminalis represents the boundary between the smooth and rough parts of the right atrium.
Where is the SAN located?
The SAN is located just below the opening for the SVC.
How are the cusps of heart valves connected to the heart wall?
Cusps are connected by tendinous cords, anchored to papillary muscles.
What is the transverse thoracic plane?
The transverse thoracic plane is the line between the sternal angle and the T4/5 intervertebral disc.
What do the vagus nerves pass through with?
The vagus nerves pass through the diaphragm with the oesophagus.
Where does the azygous vein drain?
The azygous vein drains into the SVC.
What branches from the ascending aorta?
Two coronary arteries branch from the ascending aorta.
What branches from the arch of the aorta?
The brachiocephalic trunk, left common carotid artery, and left subclavian artery branch from the arch of the aorta.
What arteries branch from the descending aorta?
Bilateral posterior intercostal arteries branch from the descending aorta.
What is the venous angle?
The venous angle is the junction between the subclavian and internal jugular veins.
What group of lymph nodes are found at the bifurcation of the trachea to the bronchi?
Tracheobronchial lymph nodes.
Where is the left venous angle located?
The left venous angle is located at the left sternoclavicular joint.
Where does the vagus nerve sit in relation to the lung root?
The vagus nerve sits posterior to the lung root.
Where does the phrenic nerve lie in relation to the lung root?
The phrenic nerve lies anterior to the lung root.
