dysponea, orthopnoea, fatigue, PND, ankle oedema, cough
Signs of dilated cardiomyopathy
thready pulse, raised JVP, displaced apex, S3 and S4, MR

Systemic illness, travel, vascular disease, thyroid issues, NM disease, alcohol, occupation
Investigations to diagnose dilated cardiomyopathy
ECG, CXR, BNP, U and E, echo, CMRI, angio, biopsy
Management of dilated cardiomyopathy
correct aneamia, treat cause, remove exasberating factors e.g. NSAID, advise on salt and fluid intake, HF nurse referal, ACEi, diuretics, beta blockers, sprronolactone, anticoagulant, transplant
Risks and aetiology of restrictive and infiltrative cardiomyopathy
familial, diabetes, scleroderma, pseudoxanthoma elasticum, amyloid, sarcoid, hemochromatosis, fabry disease
Investigation for restrictive and infiltrative cardiomyopathy
CXR, ECG, echo, FBC, BNP, U and E, biopsy, CMRI
Management for restrictive and infiltrative cardiomyopathy
Diuretics, beat blockers, ACEi, anticoagulants, cardiac transplant
Aetiology of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
sarcomere gene defect (inadequate relaxation of the heart)
Symptoms of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
breathlessness, palpitations, syncope, fatigue, angina
Examination findings for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
maybe none, irregular pulse if AF, murmurs, maybe raised JVP
Investigations in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
ECG, echo, CMRI
Treatment for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
hydration, advoid heavy exercise, check family (screening), verapamil, beta blockers, if AF anticoagulate
