Four functions of the cardiovascular System?
Pump supply exchange and drainage
What do arteries do?
oxygenated blood leaves the heart via arteries
What do veins
Deoxygenated blood returns to the heart via veins
What is the Pulmonary circulation
Between heart and lungs (deoxygenated)
What is the systemic circulation?
Oxygenated blood is pumped throughout the whole body
What is systole and what is diastole?
Systole = high pressure contractions
Diastole = low pressure relaxations
What are the three layers of the heart walk?
endocardium (inner layer) myocardium (middle layer, thickest) epicardium (outer layer)
What is the three layers of the blood vessel structure?
Tunica intima (inner layer)
Tunica media (middle layer)
Tunica adventitia (outer layer)
Which lung has three lobes? And what are the three names?
Right lung
Superior, middle and inferior lobes
What is mucosa?
it lines surfaces of the respiratory track and is made up of epithelium for protection
